'Top rate' development for Afai

Afai Southern Shipyard recently celebrated the construction of a 99-passenger high-speed ferry for the Shenzhen Pengxing Shipping Company with a traditional keel-laying ceremony.

"Cultivate the top-rate talent, construct the top-rate shipyard, build the top-rate ship, set up top rate brand” are the drivers for Afai Southern Shipyard.

Afai’s prime business is the research, design and build of high-performance aluminium alloy ships, and the company heads the Chinese domestic market in the production of aluminium alloy fast ferries, public vessels and professional rescue vessels.

Founded in 1992, Afai Southern Shipyard (Panyu Guangzhou) Ltd., is located on the eastern side of the Xinguang Bridge in Guangzhou, China, and the south bank of the Pearl River main channel.

Following a review of the business in 2004, Afai undertook a restructure of its assets. The company drew up its corporate development plan based on the production of 15-60m super yachts.  In 2012 Afai invested in and established a ship design company in Holland, aiming to match European technology and exploit international markets in the design and construction of high-end aluminium alloy yachts. Afai currently employs over 300 staff, average age 29 years old.

Determined to keep the brand ahead of its competitors, Afai concentrates on high-tech content and sustainable development momentum as it works to achieve the strategic goals of leading the home market and becoming a top global supplier of aluminum alloy vessels.

Afai Southern Shipyard (Panyu Guangzhou) Ltd. will exhibit at Seawork Asia on stand F04-2.
